A distanza di qualche mese dall’esperienza Erasmus+ a Wexford, quel viaggio non è rimasto un bel ricordo da archiviare. Ha fatto quello che dovrebbe fare uno scambio vero: ha creato legami.
Lo scorso weekend abbiamo avuto il piacere di ospitare a Sondrio una delegazione dei Wexford Wanderers RFC: circa 40 persone, tra staff, famiglie e una squadra U13. Sono arrivati in occasione di San Patrizio e hanno portato energia, curiosità e voglia di stare dentro a una relazione che non si è fermata a settembre.
L’esperienza vissuta in Irlanda, tra campo e momenti di confronto con tecnici e strutture di alto livello, aveva già lasciato una traccia chiara: il rugby è un linguaggio comune, ma serve volontà per trasformarlo in collaborazione concreta.
Questo weekend è stato un passo in quella direzione.
Allenamenti condivisi, partite, momenti informali: cose semplici, ma decisive. Perché è lì che si costruisce davvero qualcosa, non nei documenti, ma nelle relazioni che reggono nel tempo.
Per il Sondrio Rugby, lo scambio con Wexford continua a essere una leva per crescere: nuove idee, nuovi punti di vista, e la conferma che aprirsi non è una perdita di identità, ma un modo per rafforzarla. Il campo si è tinto di verde per qualche giorno: grazie ai Wexford Wanderers RFC per aver condiviso con noi questo pezzo di strada.

A few months on from the Erasmus+ experience in Wexford, that trip hasn't remained just a fond memory to file away. It did what a real exchange should do: it created connections.
Last weekend we had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from Wexford Wanderers RFC to Sondrio, about 40 people, including staff, families and a U13 squad. They came for St Patrick's Day and brought energy, curiosity, and a genuine desire to stay committed to a relationship that didn't stop in September.
The experience in Ireland, on the pitch and through exchanges with coaches and top-level setups, had already left a clear mark: rugby is a shared language, but it takes real commitment to turn it into concrete collaboration.
This weekend was a step in that direction.
Shared training sessions, matches, informal moments: simple things, but decisive ones. Because that's where something real is built, not in documents, but in relationships that hold over time.
For Sondrio Rugby, the exchange with Wexford continues to be a catalyst for growth: new ideas, new perspectives, and the confirmation that opening up is not a loss of identity, but a way to strengthen it.
